You could use the same argument for any prescription drug that people lie to get and use for recreational purposes. It doesn't mean it shouldn't be made available for those who need it.

 

And the FDA won't approve pot because they have no control over who grows it. They have some control over pharmaceutical companies and who makes the drugs. The FDA is about as useful as most other government organizations. They're as corrupt as the others for sure,
