You can call it crap all you want, but the comparison is there.  You don't know what Blake will end up being.  He could be a bust, or he could be the best QB of his generation.  Sure he needs to play better.  But I'll tell you one thing, since he's started we have been in every single game when the 4th quarter started.  We couldn't say that last year.  The ball is moving, but in spurts.  That's going to happen with a young offense.

 

Now on to the Peyton comparison (which is valid no matter how many people here will tell you it isn't):

 

In Peyton's first 6 starts he threw 14 picks, 6 TD's, and 6.5 yard per attempt.  Peyton's first 6 starts he threw 1364 yards.  In Peyton's first 6 starts he took 11 sacks.  In Peyton's first 6 starts he ran 6 times for 33 yards and 0 rushing TD's.

 

In Blake's first 6 starts he's thrown 11 picks, 6 TD's, and 6.5 yard per attempt.  Blake's first 6 starts he's thrown 1408 yards.  In Blake's first 6 starts he's taken 18 sacks.  In Blake's first 6 starts he's run 29 times for 171 yards (5.9 ypr) and 0 rushing TD's.

 

If you think that's not a remarkable comparison then you're simply refusing to look at the facts. Not to mention Blake's overall yard production (1579 total combined yards - 263 per game passing and rushing) is better than Manning (1397 total combined yards - 232 per game passing and rushing).

 

I know you can cherry pick different QB's rookie seasons to compare them or whatever.  But the comparison is valid and it's there.  As much as you don't like to hear it, so far Blake has had almost exactly the same type of rookie year, except for rushing, that Manning had.  

 

Even in the last 10 games of his rookie year Peyton threw more TD's than INT's only 4 times.  4 out of 10 games.

 

So cool your cheeks there.  Blake's learning.  Just like Manning did.  Just like every other rookie QB needs to do.  Just like every Hall of Fame QB had to do.
