I agree, I'm not making a case for Obama, I'm just saying going from NEVER holding ANY public office EVER to presidential candidate is a big jump. Not one I'm sure will ever actually succeed in a candidate getting elected.

Fair enough but he had a history of working within the political system. Carson is a complete outsider, and while that's appealing in theory it makes him a long shot to be one of the last one's standing during the primaries. Cain displayed this last time around, he was woefully unprepared for the rigors of a political run at the White House.
