But in that horrible division they are only a couple games back from first place. Rivera is in a tight spot because they can't afford to lose many more games and benching Cam for Anderson may end up conceding the season.

 

 This is one of those situations that the team brass should collectively make the best decision for the franchise.   Even if the Panthers brass believes Cam Newton gives them the best chance of winning in the present,  the risk of continuing to play him at present seems higher than the reward.  Especially when considering what you mentioned that I totally agree with:  The Panthers need lots of help.   

 

 In addition to the problems you touched upon regarding the Carolina Offense,  their pass rush hasn't been effective enough as the weeks have gone by w/o Greg Hardy.   It's exposing their Secondary.    This team has the look of one that will finish with a top 10 pick,   not a team that has a realistic chance of making noise in the playoffs if it somehow wins enough games to sneak in the playoffs.
