I run hot and hold on Marcedes.  The biggest concern for me since gabbert has left is his inability to stay on the field.  He's been lost to injury this year and last year.

 

Yes the drops when BG was our QB were frustrating to say the least.  But last year, he came on pretty well when he played.  It's just that he's not getting a lot of reps because he's been getting injured.  Obviously, injuries are part of the game...  But I wonder how our offense would have looked with Marcedes playing every game this season.

 

Now with that said, if the coaching staff continues to only target TEs only 4 times a game, it really won't matter if Lewis in healthy or not.

 

TEs are a big part of the offense for teams that are successful.  Look at NO, NE, and Denver...  But our OC doesn't really seem to be moving our offense towards that. 

 

Having a TE run up the middle might relieve some of the pressure, but we just haven't really been utilizing that aspect.  I hope Marcedes comes back and shines, but really, if he's not in the game plan, it won't matter, will it?
