Smart won't be looked at because again, he's a clone of Muschamp. Muschamp IS a great DC, as proven by the great defense we've had. That'd be a marginally good hire at best. Muschamp also had good recruiting until it was realized he was turning the team into a landfill. 

 

You even mentioned Alabama's QB's, like seriously? Dude come on man, Alabama always has a full NFL caliber offensive line, 1-2 (or more) RB's able to make the big play at any time, and usually at least 1-2 good receivers (Cooper set nearly all the team records this year btw) and yet they've never had a world beater at QB. They have game managers that don't turn the ball over. 

 

That coupled with their amazing defense and top 2-3 recruiting class every year, gives Kirby Smart a pretty easy job. 

 

No thanks. 

 

I'd be willing to bet you can put Muschamp at Bama in place of Smart and they wouldn't miss a step.
