Fyi, there have been many people accused of crimes that do not carry that stigma for the rest of their lives....in fact, many become amazing human beings that a lot of people look up to.

 

Yes, and good for them. I don't feel like that excuses the people who do have to live with being wrongfully shamed for the rest of their lives, though.

 

And I do think the example makes sense. The Duke players were suspended, expelled (I believe), and had the 2006 season cancelled. Those players were punished because a stripper with a history of false accusations, who was loaded with illegal drugs, accused players of rape. Using badger's logic, the players were rightfully punished. I disagree.
