There's a good reason Reagan gave his "welfare queen" speech in Mississippi.

Yeah, there is.

 

Because many Southerners are anti-welfare.  Because they don't believe their hard earned money should go to people who don't try to earn their own way.  They don't believe in redistribution of the wealth.  It's as simple as that. And especially against welfare fraud.  


For the record, the 'Welfare Queen' was a real woman, and her story is... to say the least, HORRIBLE.  She was a woman far worse than even Ronald Reagan painted her as.  She makes Surfer Bum look like a Saint by comparison.
