If they come across a Kirk Cousins situation where the QB grades out head and shoulders above anyone else on their board, why not? I wouldn't recommend such a course of action in the first four rounds, but once you're in the fifth, you're starting to get into the guys who are a complete and total crapshoot and probably won't last two years. A lot less risk in jumping on a value-priced QB there than in spending a third-rounder which could be a starter elsewhere on a guy who, if all goes as planned, will never see the field.

 

One possible wrench in the plan could be Matt Scott. If he improves on the practice squad and during the offseason to the point where the Jags feel like he can be the backup, they may not want to invest in a third young QB and instead opt for a low-rent veteran arm.
