I like Bortles, and still have high hopes that he'll be the franchise guy here, but if the book was too complex, and simplifying it was intended to help him, that strategy is proving disastrous. Either put Henne in so we can run the entire playbook, or start playing calls that allow your rookie QB to have some success. It's really not rocket science. It makes me wonder if they tailored the playbook for his growth, or for his short term success, because it's the latter then they need the coaching staff cleaned out. If it's the former then it doesn't seem to be working, but at least they're trying to walk the correct path. |
