One reason the NFCS looks bad is because most of their losses are at the hands of the AFCN (total domination).


If you want to think the AFCN is misleading because of a weak schedule,, then you have to think the Colts are very misleading because of a super weak AFCS schedule.


The Colts are 7-4 (4-0 in the division). That means they have a losing record (3-4) outside of the AFCS. The Colts get 5-6 cupcake games each year from this terrible division. Say they go 6-0 or 5-1 inside the division. That means they only have to go 5-5 or even 4-6 outside of the AFCS to post a good record and get in the playoffs. It sickens me.


So,, since the Colts have a losing record outside of the AFCS opponents,, are they a misleading team?

 

The other divisions the AFCS got last year were the NFCW and AFCW - the best division in each conference. The Colts beat both Super Bowl teams and the NFC Championship Game loser. So I think 11-5 wasn't misleading at all. But this year they have the weakest schedule based on the 2013 records of all 16 opponents (AFCS teams count twice).

 

Of course, if you want to base strength of schedule on 2014 opponent records, the weakest one obviously belongs to an AFCN team. However, if the NFCS teams are only being dominated by the AFCN teams no one can deny it is simply a case of one division being better than the other . . . except the Panthers and Bengals.

 

If you hate the Colts winning the division because of their schedule, root for the Texans. Oh wait, their schedule is weak too.
