The jags and the cowboys were light years apart when that change was made. A veteran crew not getting things done is a good sign a coaching shake up needs to be done. An offense with 6 rookies starting that struggles, more than likely the OC isn't the guy you need to go after.

 

People want someone's head to roll. Unfortunately, you can't fire father time.

 

Sorry, I'm not buying the rookie excuse to explain away the play calling and offensive philosophy.  Yes rookies will make mistakes.  But they are not the ones that game plan and call the plays.  

 

It can be argued, and I would argue it, that the rookies are a great crutch for allowing the OC to keep his job.  Last year fish was the OC.  With no rookies.  The play calling and philosophy was pretty much the same.  Run heavy on first and 2nd down, throw mid range behind the sticks and run the bubble screen like it's going out of style.  This isn't a rookie issue that we are seeing, this is a coaching issue.

 

Yes, rookies need time to develop, but that's not the discussion here.
