It can be argued, and I would argue it, that the rookies are a great crutch for allowing the OC to keep his job.  Last year fish was the OC.  With no rookies.  The play calling and philosophy was pretty much the same.  Run heavy on first and 2nd down, throw mid range behind the sticks and run the bubble screen like it's going out of style.  This isn't a rookie issue that we are seeing, this is a coaching issue.

 

Yes, rookies need time to develop, but that's not the discussion here.  

They aren't the ones making the game plans but they are the ones the game plan has to be specially tailored around.

 

What was Fisch supposed to do last year? He had Gabbert and Henne throwing the ball behind a failing line that would be completely overhauled in the off season.

You really don't think that had a major impact? Come on. You act like he was working with Romo with a pro bowl RB, T, WR, and TE.

 

Talent and experience has a direct impact on what you can do and how well it can be executed. Acting like this doesn't matter is just silly.
