I get it encouraging effort is just as important as rewarding success it's a fine line to walk. I'm not even all tha upset about participation trophies I'm just saying with the team I coach I try to teach them as much in a loss as in a victory.


I've got some of the crazy parents that only see wins and losses but I've got more that the parents don't even show up. Out of a team of 18 kids I've got 7 parents that show up and of that 7 only 3 or 4 that the parents are both in the picture. For some of them this IS the only chance they have to learn life lessons that's just the reality of it.
