Quote:You can't control what anyone else will or will not do on a message board, only your reaction. Though it may be difficult for you to do, If you do change your name (Buckeye Jaguar, please please please) and you still initially get referred to as J Dub, try to ignore it and not let anyone know how much it bothers you. If whoever keeps referring to you as jdub no longer gets a reaction out of you, it will eventually stop. I understand it can take a while for people to get used to the idea of calling me BJ (not BeeJay, please) and that is OK. It is outright refusal to change despite knowing why I changed it that would drive me bonkers. The reason I get so worked up about this is I am afraid it will never stop if I ignore it. Why do people do stuff like this only to get a reaction from me, even though it is a bad one? Even psychologists couldn't explain that annoying behavior, so I need to ask the people who do it directly. |
