OC Play-Calling VS. Youth/Inexperience/Struggling O-line

I wanted to drop this observation into this thread...
Today is the first time I've seen us run a quick dump off to the RB in the middle of the field. We did it with Gerhart on 3rd and I think 9 on our last drive of the second quarter. I mention this because most teams run these types of plays alot. I've watched almost every snap of this season and last under Fish. It's the first time I remember this play being ran... Look, Fish is calling a good game overall so far. There's no doubt that he could continue to get better at running an NFL offense. And maybe he's getting the hang of that right now. I'm not adverse to changing my mind on the guy. But I want to see more consistency in his play calling. The last 2 games have shown that he can be creative and aggressive. I hope that he continues to build on what we've seen so far! Go jags! |
