Hatred and disrespect? C'mon, rj, this is American politics. This happens on both sides of every election. Mitt Romney was labeled a rich white guy unable to relate to Americans by many on the left. What's the difference? As for Palin, I'm not saying YOU'RE doing it because she's a woman; I'm saying that the same argument can be made for Palin that you're making for Obama. I know Obama holds more esteem in your mind, but I don't believe him to be as qualified as you do. I'm sure I can call him an idiot, too, but people have told me I'm racist for doing so. You're no more a sexist than I am a racist. These silly arguments have to stop. 

 

There haven't been many Presidents as divisive as Obama. Since I've only lived through 5 of them, and I've heard them called some of the most absurd names and comments, I don't know where you're getting the idea that Obama is some sort of exception. 

 

There are currently rallies in front of the White House in which some participants are calling for the President to be lynched.

 

In the height of their troubles, did anyone interrupt Nixon's or Clinton's State of the Union address and call them a liar? Did any state governor wag a finger in their face on an airport tarmac?

 

Yes, he is divisive, yet his policies are more moderate than liberal. Do you really think it has nothing to do with the color of his skin?

 

It's a permutation of the Emperor with no clothes fable. If I state what seems obvious, you say I'm playing the race card.

 

I don't want it to be true, but like boudreaumw, I see and hear too much to deny the truth.
