Jaguars are really doing a better job than last year and the arrow is really pointing up.  If we knew anything about football like the professionals who make the decisions do, we would see that we are SO close to being great.  We are improving every day and really competing.  The offensive line is not as bad as the stats say, and neither is the offense.  We're just 4" away on most plays.  What did the fans expect?  A good football team?  They don't know what they're watching.  This is a good football team that is so close and competing hard.  It'll show next year.

It's PR. What's the big deal, honestly? Do you want him to come out and say "we suck because lots of our players suck but we plan on not sucking so much next year?" Would that make you feel better? Lol. Do you really think Caldwell is up in his skybox wringing his hands saying "oh, Gus, this is so embarrassing--look at this powerhouse I've built--how can you not be world champions?" Do you think he has sit back and washed his hands of the rebuild? "Yep, my job is done here. This team has been rebuilt! It's Gus's fault we aren't winning more games!" For the life of me I can't understand why the coach is taking the heat for fielding a half-built team. The FO is well aware of what's going on. There is no disconnect there. They know what they have. Again, the fact that this team CONTINUES to play as hard as they do despite no hope of any reward but getting better and maybe a couple token wins is a testament to the coaching staff.
