Johnathan Cyprien had his best game as a Jag according to PFF

A. It's good that Cyp had his best game. I'm hoping this becomes the trend. It's been the trend for him to be getting burned.
...which leads to... B. It's been hypothesized that Cyp has had to "mis-align" himself because of poor FS play... Is this something that Bradley or Babich have discussed on the record? Is there an all-22 or other proof of this? I would love to believe that the reason Cyp blows tackles is because his poor angles are a result of him playing slightly out of position. I'm just not sure there's any real proof of that. If there is, I'd love to see it. I'd even take a written example of when you saw this on a particular play in a particular game. The other concern regarding this hypothesis is that if he starts at a bad angle pre-snap, after the snap, shouldn't he have already adjusted as he is approaching the ball carrier once he's recognized who's got the ball and where the play his headed? |
