This subject keeps coming up. Someone please tell me an instance in which a GM has ever selected a QB in the top 5 two years in a row, because I can't think of one.

It ain't going to happen. Why should it? Is this team one back up quarterback away from a title? LOL.

If Mariota some how beats out Bortles (not likely) you have a top 5 pick sitting on the bench not developing. If Mariota gets beaten out by Bortles (much more likely) you have a top 5 pick sitting on the bench (or practice squad) not developing, and you've "wasted" the pick.

And no, he wouldn't have much trade value. So, why use a top 5 pick to get a third round pick (or whatever) in trade?

Makes no sense.
