I'd appreciate positive thoughts and prayers for a friend of mine. She was diagnosed last week with a brain tumor in her thalamus that is inoperable. The thalamus regulates conciousness, alertness and sleep while also relaying sensory and motor signals. She's at Duke today to get a biopsy to find out if it's cancerous or not (results by next Monday we think). Even so, due to the location of the tumor she is on heavy meds that has her in la-la land 24/7 and she's almost non-functioning between that and the effect the tumor is having in the thalamus.

 

She's in her early 30's, has a 14 year old son and she and her husband just got married (she honored me by wearing my wedding dress). I've seen what a cancerous tumor in the brain can do to a person first hand and hoped I'd never see it again in my lifetime. A tumor in this area is bad enough. A cancerous one.....just not good. Her name is Libby, her son is Kyle, and husband is Kevin. I am very close to her parents and they are taking this very hard, of course.
