The way I understood Gus's comments was that he didn't like the all at once approach of Fisch and preferred a more incremental mastery of the game.

Either way it's Gus's job to bring someone in that can make the offense function and understands offensive and defensive scheme and how to dictate the other team react to what you want to do, instead of always having to react to the defense.
