Eric Kendricks UCLA MLB
|
Most of us always talk about Perryman and McKinney but you dont hear much about Kendricks on these boards. A lot of us live in the SE so we see alot of Miami games and Miss St games but dont catch many UCLA games. The ones that have seen a few of his games and have been watching him the last few years what is your opinion on him?
He won the Dick Butkus award this year (the award given to the best LB in college) and the list of players that have won it almost all of them the last 10 yrs have produced and have been the top LB's in the NFL. Outside of Aaron Curry who was considered the safest pick in the draft the list has some studs at the next level. Here is the last Dick Butkus award winners the last 15 yrs. 2014 Eric Kendricks UCLA 96 Solo, 40 Ast, 2.0 Sk, 3 Int 2013 C.J. Mosley* Alabama 62 Solo, 46 Ast, 0.0 Sk 2012 Manti Te'o* Notre Dame 55 Solo, 58 Ast, 1.5 Sk, 7 Int 2011 Luke Kuechly Boston College 102 Solo, 89 Ast, 0.0 Sk, 3 Int 2010 Von Miller* Texas A&M 38 Solo, 30 Ast, 10.5 Sk, 1 Int 2009 Rolando McClain* Alabama 53 Solo, 52 Ast, 4.0 Sk, 2 Int 2008 Aaron Curry* Wake Forest 66 Solo, 39 Ast, 2.5 Sk, 1 Int 2007 James Laurinaitis* Ohio State 51 Solo, 70 Ast, 5.0 Sk, 2 Int 2006 Patrick Willis Mississippi 87 Solo, 50 Ast, 3.0 Sk, 0 Int 2005 Paul Posluszny* Penn State 64 Solo, 52 Ast, 3.0 Sk, 0 Int 2004 Derrick Johnson* Texas 1 Int, 18 Yds, 0 TD 2003 Teddy Lehman* Oklahoma 1 Int, 0 Yds, 0 TD 2002 E.J. Henderson* Maryland 2 Int, 20 Yds, 0 TD 2001 Rocky Calmus* Oklahoma 1 Int, 33 Yds, 0 TD 2000 Dan Morgan* Miami (FL) 2 Int, 34 Yds, 0 TD 1999 Lavar Arrington* Penn State That said I know he looks a bit undersized as a MLB at 6'0" 230. But Luke Kuechly is 6'3" 238 . London Fletcher is 5'10" 240 So his frame is a little thicker than Kuechly but dont have the length. Im sure he will probably put on at least 5-8 lbs by the time he makes it to the pros so I dont really think his size will be a factor, he looks to play bigger than he is and looks to be a leader on defense as he was UCLA's leader on D the last 2 years. Could this be the future at the MLB position that most of us dont talk about? Thoughts? Gonna try to find some game cut ups of his http://www.latimes.com/sports/ucla/la-sp...tml#page=1 http://www.latimes.com/sports/ucla/uclan...story.html We show less advertisements to registered users.
