I think getting to watch Luck go directly against Dalton shows to me pretty clearly the difference between having a good QB and having a mediocre QB... 

 

I mean is that a real knock on Dalton?  He's mediocre.  He's OK.  He's a QB that a GM needs to build very good weapons around and build a very good O-Line.

 

With AJ Green in, and with a better O-Line, Dalton and the Bungles could have easily won that game.  

 

But they didn't, and in essence, the game was over before it started.  Dalton is just not good enough to carry a team.  He's a mediocre QB that can get a team into the playoffs with a good team around him.

 

Is that so bad?  I'll tell you what, we had a mediocre QB in DG and if GS could have done a better job acquiring talent, we could have been a better playoff contender too...  Of course, then DG got hurt and we would have had to put in Gabbert, and the wheels would have fallen off anyways...

 

And we'd still be right back to where we are now...  It's almost as though our suck-i-tude has been fore-written by the football gods...
