Hiring Mularkey to coach this team was probably the best move that could've been made. It ultimately assured that Gene Smith would be fired, and that the team would go in a completely different direction. Had they hired a coach who was marginally better, we may still be dealing with Gene Smith, and that needed to end.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
