Indeed.  The roster that went 6-10, 6-10 in 01 and 02 under superbowl champion Tom Coughlin.  Or perhaps the top draft picks after JDR became coach were the difference.  Oh wait, Byron (03), Reggie (04) and Lord Allmatty (05).  Thank God for the later picks in Mathis, Jones etc.

 

As explicitly stated, I believe JDR inherited better players upon starting.  Is the difference that pronounced to produce 14 wins in his first 2 years vs. 7 for Gus?  Would Gus have done the same if the situations were reversed.  I'd like your take cause you were one of the vocal guys against JDR, but have been curiously mum on the far inferior current cast, production wise.  Sure, it's a rebuilding, rookie filled roster, acknowledged.  You draft em to play em.  Didn't JDR utilize his busted 1 rounders and the better latter picks?  Isn't Caldwell supposed to be an upgrade to Shack and Gene?  Aren't his picks utilized?
