It's being built to carry the oil from Canadian tar sands, and the price of oil needs to be north of $100 a barrel for Canadian tar sands oil extraction to be economically feasible. The only reason I can see for people to continue to push that project is that the congresspersons who are backing it are getting money from the people who would make money building it. |
