Of course Sherman is trying to defend Lynch.He is a teammate. What would you expect him to do?

It is a requirement for athletes of all professional sports to talk to the media. If they choose not to they can and will likely be fined. If someone came up to a punter or kicker to interview them and the reporter were to be turned away, then they would be fined. Also there is never really a reason to interview a punter or kicker unless they just won or lost the game for the team because people dont care what they have to say.
