I think everyone who says Ohio State did not deserve a playoff invitation for the reasons RFC described is just a Buckeyes hater because the same people said Florida State, who almost lost to several unranked teams and did nothing when it finally faced a real opponent, is the best team in America. You can't have it both ways. FSU did not have to break in a new quarterback the first two weeks. That was why OSU lost to VT - it was only the second game for J.T. Barrett. FSU didn't have that excuse for almost losing several games against weak opponents.

 

Look at the conference championship games. FSU barely beat GT while OSU blew out and shut out Wisconsin. The Badgers were ranked higher than the Yellow Jackets and had a Heisman Trophy finalist for a running back. OSU also broke a new quarterback in against the Badgers while Jameis Winston played against Georgia Tech. What if Cardale Jones played all year? What if Navy and Virginia Tech were not the first two OSU opponents? What if Florida State did not get lots of lucky breaks and let Winston play in every game? You can twist the story many ways, but in the end, OSU > FSU. The Buckeyes got the job done. The Seminoles didn't. End of story.
