One and done playoff formats don't determine who the best team is.  They just dont.  It's injuries and matchups and frankly some luck.  There are probably 20 teams that could have won an 8 team playoff in college this year.  Get the right matchup, play well at the right time, avoid the wrong injury, etc... 

 

Look, this is what the people wanted. Just like how most NCAA bball team isn't the best team. Playoff systems like this doesn't always crown the best team, but most years it brings excitement. This is what will happen in the NCAA.

 

Contrast this to the NBA with their 7 game playoff rounds, which almost always guarantees that the best team wins the championship.
