Feel free to defend the guy if you feel the need.  All indications are that he knew about the incidents and did nothing to bring it to the attention of authorities. 

 

I'm going to assume you're not a parent, but just in case you are, let's say you entrust your pre-teen son to the responsibility of a guy who is well known in the community.  While your child is in the custody of that person, the adult takes advantage of your child and molests him repeatedly. 

 

During the course of this happening, the molester's boss is told by another employee that your child is being molested, and that it's being perpetrated by this upstanding guy.  The boss doesn't lift a finger to notify authorities, and despite the fact that your child was absolutely molested, the investigations clear the molester of allegations, most likely because the company he works for has enough political pull in the community to bury the charges. 

 

He's left to his own design to continue molesting children. 

 

When it happens again with another child a few years later, the boss still does nothing despite being informed. 

 

You're okay with all of this, right?  I mean, who cares if your kid was molested?  Right?  Who cares that there was someone who could have put an end to this when it was happening?  You're okay with this?
