The Indianapolis Colts are a bad football team

Quote:Jealousy is pouring out of you... Do you have a bucket to collect it all or do you just let it pool around your feet? Why on Earth should we be jealous of the Colts? Khan and Co aren't just trying to win some games, but to actually build a consistent winner akin to New England and Seattle. I would never want a guy like Jim Irsay to be involved with the Jaguars in any capacity whatsoever. He's a depressed man who is dealing with serious personal, as well as psychological problems. He's an embarrassment to the Colts organization, the city of Indianapolis, and Colts fans like yourself. And whether Irsay is willing to admit it or not, we all know that the Colts tanked for Luck back in 2011. Without Luck you guys are in pretty much the same boat as we're in right now. Along with the Titans and Texans. The Jaguars are in what some may call a "total rebuild". That means that everyone from the last few failed regimes was fired, players were released and traded, and we literally had to build from the ground up with a whole new roster of young, inexperienced players and coaches. Khan totally cleaned house. To put it all in perspective, it's basically a second franchise rebirth. We're at the same level as the 1995 Jags, 1996 Ravens, 1999 Browns, and 2002-2003 Texans were right now. For many obvious reasons, very few professional sports teams have the guts to do what the Jags have done over the last 3 seasons. As it means having to deal with consistent back to back losing seasons, low TV ratings, and lack of fan support. The positive side though to a total rebuild is that it means that after having to deal with the constant losing, things will begin to turn around as you have a new and solid foundation with great coaching, stable ownership, and the team is now loaded top to bottom with great talent as a result of having high draft picks; as well as having saved up enough cap space to sign more talented players and coaches onto the team through trades and free agency. I find it almost hypocritical that a Colts fan would accuse another fanbase of being "jealous" of their teams success, when 25 years ago, they had some of the worst teams in NFL history. In 1981 the Colts defense allowed an NFL record 533 points, and more then 6,793 yards allowed. As well as 8.19 yards per dropback. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1981_Baltim...lts_season The Seahawks and Patriots did the exact same thing as we're doing right now and look at where those teams are today; The Seahawks are on the verge of being the first back to back SB champs since the 03-04 Patriots, and the Pats are going to their 6th SB in the Brady-Bellichick era. Tom Brady and Bill Bellichick both have been to 6 Superbowls, 9 conference championships, 12 division titles, and 20 playoff wins. They have more playoff wins than 21 NFL franchises. That's unfathomable. And all of that success that you see today, is because those teams were willing to start again and rebuild from the bottom up, and work their way to the top. Just like what the Jags are doing right now. |
