If we do what the Redskins did last year we will only upgrade one position and still not fix the C, G, TE, RB, FB, RT, or slot WR, which all need to improve for our new quarterback to carry over college success into the NFL. We can draft the best quarterback in the nation and still suck if he does not have very talented teammates to play with.

 

 

Write this down: IT HAS BEEN PROVEN MOBILE QUARTERBACKS MAKE TEAMS BETTER AND DO LAST AS LONG AS POCKET PASSERS. In fact, Steve Young ran for more yards than any other quarterback in NFL history except Randall Cunningham in 15 seasons. Although Michael Vick was suspended two seasons, it is worth noting he has been playing as long as many pocket passers. (He was drafted in 2001.) John Elway holds the team record for rushing yards. Steve McNair was also a dual threat. I know there are guys like Vince Young who were mobile quarterbacks and did not last very long, but their problem was simply not being good enough to stay on rosters and did not have anything to do with their risk of injuries. (Vince Young got another chance with the Bills, then was in Green Bay's training camp this year.) Show me the proof if you know as a fact those guys were all very rare exceptions.

 

Your other point, not being a good fit for the NFL, is also way off base. Being mobile does not just mean keeping the ball when nobody is open. It also means scrambling. A mobile quarterback would have a lot more success behind a bad offensive line like ours than one with cement feet. My dad told me even Brett Favre would suck if the Pack had a bad offensive line. Even if we don't have a running quarterback like Terrelle Pryor, we should definitely have one who can scramble out of the pocket.
