Post Game Persepctive- Seattle
This weeks post game perspective will be much shorter than usual. I don’t believe there is anyone on this board that truly believed we had a chance to win this game. This team is the worst team ever assembled. The lions spent years of being a joke in the league and now we are the modern day version of the lions.
Offense
: As bad as the score indicates, I don’t believe it was a total failure. MJD finally crossed the goal line for the first time this season. There seems to be a lack of chemistry with many of our players, from the limited time we see them it very much appears as if we just have guys playing for a check. This line is still terrible, Rackley couldn’t start for any other team in the NFL. There was a reason that he played at Lehigh, not at a legit football school (thanks gene). I do expect this team to play better in week 5, the return of Blackmon and Lewis will open things up a little bit. If the turnstiles can stop spinning for 3 seconds things will get better. That being said, we wont challenge anyone this year. Some might think that we have a chance against the browns and chargers….only in the video games my friends.
Defense: I thought the Dline played pretty well today. I thought Lynch was going to have a great day running the ball but keeping him under 100 is actually something to be kinda proud of. Our linebackers and secondary looked like clowns out there. The second touchdown to Miller was pathetic, he was getting popcorn in the corner of the endzone and no one could find him. Im glad Evans finally got some significant playing time, but not because Lowery got hurt. You can be sure that this secondary will be blown up next year, I don’t see half of them making this team. Branch was as active as I have ever seen him, did the light switch come on or are we trying to give him the limelight to trade him too.
Post thoughts: We are who we are, we surely will own the worst record in the league by a significant margin . As bad as we are, we at least expected it this year and even next year. Things are much worse for the Giants, Vikings and Steelers. Not many of those fans saw 0-3 starts, welcome to the bottom guys. Ive seen so many topics about us trading players, so many people on this board are delusional. If you honestly think someone would give us a first for MJD then you should having your posting privelages provoked. At best, on a perfect day MJD is probably worth a 3rd…that’s a super stretch and im not sure we will get a deal done with anyone. I can see the Saints being the team to get things done at this point but still unlikely.
Draft thoughts: Most on here are calling for Teddy Bridgewater or Clowney as our pick, it would be nice to get either guy as both would be light years ahead of the guys on our team. If we are still the worst team in the league and are given the first pick in the draft, I don’t believe either one of those guys will be our pick….After watching plenty of sport shows and talk about the Richardson trade to Indy, it got me thinking. As long as Clowney stays healthy and gets his game on track he will be one of the most coveted guys in the last decade possibly. Someone will surely, sell their draft to come get him. Look at what Atlanta did for Julio, what the Skins did for RG3. Someone will overpay for Clowney, again as long as he stays healthy and continues to dominate. So unless we are 100% certain the guy at 1 isnt worth passing on, I don’t see us staying. This would allow our team to get multiple picks in multiple drafts, most likely multiple firsts and seconds. Seems crazy, sure but we have seen it before. Long way to go but I thought id share my thoughts. We need more than 6-7 guys, we could use a 12 person draft class.
