So somebody deflated the balls before or during the first half and re-inflated them sometime between halftime and the end of the game. Brady says he tells the equipment manager he prefers them to be as soft as possible within the regs, which is 12.5 psi. This establishes that Brady does prefer a softer ball, and would likely want it to be inflated less then 12.5 if the rules allowed it. Brady also said he did not notice the 2-psi softer balls during the game, which I find very unlikely. It makes no sense that somebody who makes a living gripping, handling, and throwing a 12.5 psi ball would not notice doing those things with a 10/5 psi ball.


Belichick also has likely perjured himself by denying any knowledge of the issue until he saw it on the news. He had to know that the Pats' footballs were confiscated and inspected by the officials at halftime. He's not a very skilled liar.


They are going to try bluffing their way through the next 8 days, as any admission regarding the deflated balls would take QB and/or coach out of the big game. They are hoping the NFL will not have time to do a complete investigation in that time. I don't think it matters, because the Seahawks will win easily. But I'm sick of Belichick and Brady's skirting of the rules. They will probably just be fined and maybe lose a draft pick, but will be allowed to continue playing and coaching in the NFL. I say their careers are already destroyed no matter what happens going forward.
