Quote:I lost 70 pounds about 7 years ago and have done a pretty good job of keeping it off.  I fluctuate between maintaining the weight and going up 10.  I've just been eating smarter and I walk 5.2 miles (damn close to) every morning since 1/1/2008.  I wake up at 4:30 to get ready for work so I can do my walk.  I feel like something is askew (there's a word I don't get to use often) if I don't walk.  I think a big part of keeping weight off is getting into a routine.

I can't imagine losing 150+.  Awesome man!

Kudos to you for losing the weight and even more for sticking to staying healthy!  Keeping it off seems to be the most difficult thing for a lot of people that lose weight.  For me it hasn't been an issue yet and hopefully it never will be.  I personally don't see my weight becoming a problem for me again, my life has completely changed and I'm better for it.

I tell you, every time I sit back and think about the whole thing it amazes me.

My diet was scary bad.  I was addicted to Mt. Dew.  I was drinking at least one 20oz bottle (more often than not at least a 1 liter bottle) a day.  I regularly ate large meals from McDonalds, horrible Subway sandwiches and huge meals from Taco Bell.  Junk food was my main food group.  I was killing myself little by little with food.  I haven't touched a Subway sandwich in a year or two and haven't had McDonalds or Taco Bell in even longer.  I couldn't even fathom eating it now, I think I'd be sick.  Which doesn't upset me.  I haven't had a soda/pop in going on two years and no alcohol in over a year.  The no alcohol thing was a personal choice that had little to do with health reasons.  I simply gave it up.

You're 100% right about getting into a routine.  That can make or break someone that is trying to get healthy.
