Owner of St. Louis Rams plans to build NFL stadium in L.A.


Teal Curtain,  in fairness to the old LA Rams fan base,   I agree that Georgia Frontiere ran the franchise into the ground.   That much more when considering the trade compensation the Rams received for Eric Dickerson.

 

But as a person that's followed the NFL for a long time and has also read up on the history of the league,   it seemed like the Rams were most popular in Los Angeles in the 1950's, 1960's,  and pre Chuck Knox era 1970's when they had big time passing games.   Plus,  they had winning teams most of the time.    The ground oriented Rams of the Knox and John Robinson eras didn't seem to have the same appeal to the Rams fan base as a whole.    This despite the Rams having a large amount of success in these eras as well.
