He's still under contract for 2015, so if we don't cut or trade him (I doubt) or if he doesn't retire, he'll be in Seattle next year.

It's likely Marshawn Lynch would re-sign with the Seahawks if the actual offer equals the type of offer that is being reported.   But Lynch is not exactly a conventional player from a personality standpoint.   Nothing that Lynch does would shock me.

I think a 2 year, $20M contract with around $10M guaranteed in next season will be a good deal for both sides. His cap hit for 2015 is already $8,5M, so his new contract wouldn't effect our cap as much as people expect. Depending on how the deal is structured, it could also reduce his cap hit for 2015. If we cut him, we save around $7M, but I think the idea is to keep him.

 

If he shows signs of regress next season, we could cut him with minimal costs or he could simply retire after next season. After the loss on Sunday I think he'll be back for another SB run.
