For example, I read the Packers may have to choose between letting Bryan Bulaga and/or Randall Cobb test the market and cutting Jiulius Peppers. If that happens, most of us will want to get Peppers.

 

Hypothetically speaking, a team could also cut a player so they can trade a pick for Marcedes Lewis and his big contract. Then we can pick up the guy they cut to get two players out of the Lewis trade.

 

Now I am not saying we should expect any of these scenarios or do anything about them. I just think we should consider all options instead of simply "get this free agent" or "trade a pick for that player."

 

Assuming all of these possibilities are realistic (not necessarily for the same players), would you be interested? I certainly would.
