Well, a few caveats. Blake had 17 INTs in 14 games. He'd be in the 19-20 range if he played all 16 games. You can also argue that Blake went ultra conservative post Bye week to keep his INT down (his YPA became Gabbert-esque to barely 5 ypa after the bye).

 

Also, 11 TDs.

 

Peyton Manning in his rookie year threw for 28 INTs (which I think is a rookie record). But he also threw 26 TDs, which was good for 5th in the league back then. Blake's 11 puts him down at 29th, and the guys below him were all part-time starters...so essentially he was last in TD.

 

Is his rookie year stats all-time bad? No. But frankly, the most disturbing thing is that he clearly regressed as the season went on and became gunshy.

 

Not really what you want to see.
