Regarding Ty Sambrailo, it was clear to me watching the Bowl game where Colorado State played Utah, that Ty Sambrailo had some work to do on his game since Nate Orchard took him to school. Then came the Senior Bowl and his technique was such that he kept allowing the inside move to overpower him.

 

Still, Sambrailo, Ogbuehi and perhaps Humphries (from Florida) all fit the ZBS for Right Tackles, where the teams is looking for more athletic OTs versus the Power Tackles like Daryl Williams and Donovan Smith.

 

So here is the rub, I think the Jags have to draft one of these three in either Rd 3 or 4. It could be that all three will be drafted before the end of Rd 3, in which case the Jags may have to consider Sean Hickey in Rd 4 (Syracuse - Doug Marrone connection).

 

In my mind, both Sambrailo and Ogbuehi both need to get stronger and need better coaching.

 

This is why I think the Jags may sign a stop gap ORT in Free Agency, either Doug Free or more likely Joseph Barksdale. If either Free or Barksdale were signed to three year deals then by the 3rd year, I think either Sambailo or Ogbuehi would be ready. Ogbuehi clearly will not be ready to play next year coming off an ACL injury.

 

I see both Sambrailo and Ogbuehi are ranked as Rd 2 selections, but I think that is too high for either of them. There value is too high to see them fall out of Rd 3, although it may be possible.

 

Good thing about athletic OTs is that they can be converted to OG pretty easily.
