My response is: What on earth are people so upset about??  From the rage on these boards, to John Oehser calling Mark ‘misguided’ . . it’s baffling.  What Mark said sounds completely reasonable to me.  He’s saying he doesn’t want the team to move, he wants them in Jacksonville – but if it did happen on day, it wouldn’t come as a complete surprise.

Believing these observations constitute a great betrayal is ridiculous. It’s really low to trash Brunell over this.

People are so upset because Brunell is one of a handful of iconic Jaguars that are revered by this franchise. If anyone at all were to go on National TV and defend us we would absolutely expect it to be him or Tony Boselli or Fred Taylor. With all that is being done to strengthen the Jags and keep them here we would expect Brunell of all people to be one of our torch bearers delivering our message. If put to a vote on famous Jags who would be expected to defend our name, Brunell would be at the top or very near it.

 

You act surprised at fan reaction? Did you not notice the ten page thread that erupted from this firestorm!?!?!? If anything Jag fans possess high football IQ in all of its capacities.

 

Nothing wrong with his statement because it is logically correct? Again true Jag fans were struck by this as odd and for every point he made during this debacle there are many more he could have presented defending us.

 

If his comments were so pedestrian then why did he reverse his stance? That alone justifies the angry mob. We are a sensitive fan base that has had a really rough go of it the past few seasons and we are fighting for our franchise. Back a Jaguar into a corner and you will be served with sharp teeth and razor sharp claws.
