ESPN Reporter Mike Sando says this about Jags Trading Down

#11

Quote:While I am having problems providing links on this forum, in the Titans mail box at ESPN.com, there is this comment...

"Mike Sando (ESPN Reporter) spoke with one GM who said he believes the Jaguars are more likely to trade out of the No. 3 spot than the Titans are to trade out of No. 2"

If this trade down happens it will be because the Titans ask for too much and the Jags ask for a lot less.

One crazy option I heard last night of PFT TV from Brian Westbrook, (which obviously means nothing) is that the Eagles might give up their entire draft (all their picks in the 2015 draft). If they perhaps added a No. 2 in 2016, that might be enough for the Jags to fill their roster with players drafted. It would also give Caldwell plenty of picks to trade up and grab the players he wants in the 2nd and 3rd rounds (2nd Day).

The Eagles are projected to have picks: 20, 52, 84, 119, 155, 191, 228

THIS IS JUST A RUMOUR, and so it should be treated as such.

Your thoughts are much welcomed though.

I was thinking this might be a possibility.  If Winston and a defensive lineman come off one and two, three could be a hot pick.

The next to come off the board would likely be the second QB and/or second DL, both of which would be attractive to teams who want the cream of the crop at those positions.

Jags could trade back, pick up selections, and still get impact players.

The only down side to picking up extra picks and moving down, is that the positions we need are somewhat weak, and what we don't necessarily need are somewhat strong.  I don't think we'd find near as good a DL moving out of three, and fans may balk at picking up a WR so high even though that make the most sense based on where we trade to and what the board looks like.  WR is too deep to think we might pass on that position in every round.  The numbers suggest there could be a value pick there at some point.
