In the latest combine news (and ESPN), sources inside the Packers are stating that they are in talks with both Cobb and Bulaga camps, as getting these two signed are the highest priority.  Both players have indicated they would like to play with the Packers.  It will come down to how well the Packers are willing to pay them to keep them.  Using the franchise tag on either player would be giving them a one year deal significantly (and many believe prohibitively) over their long term contract value, and would only be used if they feel they are close to a long term deal on the player.  The Packers are going to try very hard to sign them before other teams can tamper (or contact them) in about 2 weeks.   

 

In Bulaga's case, the highest paid right tackle in the league is playing for $7m per year.  Bulaga was the second best pass protecting right tackle in the league, according to PFF; I would think the Packers would not like to lose this protection for Rogers.  The interesting twist to Bulaga's deliberation was that he was originally supposed to be the Packer's left tackle of the future, that would have had him more likely in the $10-13m per year range if he played at the same level on that side.  Although he did have prior injury issues, I think Bulaga will command $8-9m in the market, if the Packers let him hit free agency.
