The following article from this morning might have factored into what the OP expressed above:

The bottom line is the Lions are preparing for contingencies.   Including the possibility ( not probability )  the Lions will have to move on without Ndamukong Suh.

 

There's also a chance that the Lions would re-sign Suh in the coming days and after Nick Fairley tests the open market,  he comes back to Detroit on a short term deal if he doesn't like any of the offers from other teams enough.    I'm not counting on both DT's being back but it's not impossible for this to happen.
