How we become an Unstoppable Offensive Juggernaut
|
Quote:Yes, you read right. I believe that we can become an unstoppable offensive force, and all it will take is a 17.5 million cap hit to sign 4 players as well as only using 2 of our 7 draft picks on offensive players. Basically, with 44.5 million in cap space remaining and 5 picks we could devote to defense, we could still have the leagues best offense. Actually, with the one draft pick I'm being overly greedy, so it could be 6 draft picks. To make sure this all worked out, I looked into what players we were connected with, their projected contract predictions, and then used the manage the cap tool on fanspeak to give those contracts to lower tier guys who would accept it no matter what in order to see how the money played out, thus giving me the figures above.I like it. Especially the pairing of Julius Thomas and Maxx Williams at TE. If we got Blackmon back AND got Maclin, our receiving group would be awesome. Blackmon, Maclin, Robinson, Lee, Thomas, Williams and Harbor....whoa! For running downs, we might need to bring in an extra OT though, cause none of those would be the blocking TE Lewis is, but I won't miss him. I might replace Duke Johnson with Jay Ajayi in the 3rd if he was still there though. Ajayi, Gerhart, Robinson rotating and keeping fresh legs in the game, much like Detroit with Bush, Bell and Riddick. Bulaga and Wisniewski would be awesome additions to the line and help in pass protection and run blocking. Bortles would have no excuse if he were not twice as good this year. |
