How we become an Unstoppable Offensive Juggernaut

#59

Quote:This scenerio, if it comes to fruition, would be exciting to see. I agree with your position groups to be addressed in free agency. The most likely individual selection would be Wisniewski, due to the Greg Olsen connection. Bowanko had a good rookie year, but he's not the caliber player of Wisniewski. Besides that, both these guys are versatile and can be moved to guard. One thing we have learned is that you never have too much depth on the offensive line.

It would be very surprising to me if we don't target one of the elite free agent tight ends. I have no preferences between Thomas, Cameron and Clay as they all would be major upgrades. Cameron's concussions do worry me a little, but if he checks out physically he'd be a great addition.

I have a feeling that both Maclin and Bulaga will return to the Eagles and Packers, respectively, however the Jaguars will likely target the best available right tackle. The guys you mention would be good alternatives although Free's age is a negative. However, they could draft a right tackle in the mid-rounds and let Marrone develop him until Free no longer is worthy of being a starter. Free would be a stabilizing force and should have at least a couple more good years left. Orlando Franklin also intrigues me, but I'm not sure about his ability to be an effective right tackle since he's been a guard most recently. Brennan Williams is the wildcard so hopefully the Jaguars will hit the lottery with this inexpensive acquisition like they did with Jimmy Smith (probably a pipe dream).

Instead of Maclin, I see the Jags going after a less expensive veteran like Washington or Royal. I have high hopes from the rookie trio of Robinson, Lee and Hurns so I'd rather spend the money on the best available safety in free agency like Rahim Moore.

Your 2nd and 3rd picks (Williams and Johnson) would be amazing. It is possible that both will make it to the Jags 2nd and 3rd round selections depending on how

they do at the combine. For the Jags sake, I hope they don't do too great or they'll never be available. Of the 2, I would love to see Duke Johnson be a Jag. If he's not there in the 3rd, I'd be quite content with either Coleman or Abdullah since one of these three has at least a 50-50 chance of falling. Since the Jags should get a stud tight end in free agency, I'd probably prefer a blocking tight end in the mid rounds like the guy from Ohio State or possibly Jesse James from PSU. The 2nd round should be reserved for the best linebacker available. To me, the BAP in round 2 is likely to be a linebacker (Perryman or Kendricks most likely) and this pick would be difficult for Caldwell to pass on as it would give us a formidable linebacking corps to back up a solid line.

Thanks for your great scenerio,
For some reason this was one of the most kindest and polite posts I've ever seen. It's almost weird to see considering people like to go

"YUCK DAT SO BAD YOOOOO STOOOPID FER PICKIN DAT HAHAHAHA"
