Is It Time to Move On From Marcedes Lewis?
|
Quote:Why does he need to restructure? Because you think they're paying him too much? He's already on the books for 2014. They have zero need to restructure his deal as it makes that pool of money they have to spend even larger, which I think they're already going to struggle to hit the floor for what they have to spend. Adding to that doesn't seem likely. It's obvious to anyone with a functioning brain Lewis won't be on the roster next year at his current salary, I don't care how much cap space the Jaguars have, his play doesn't warrant the contract. If Marcedes was a FA of another team would you be ok with the Jaguars paying him $8M/year? I didn't think so, there's no reason to pay $8M to an ineffective TE, with your logic we might as well bring back MJD at a base of $6M/year, after all the Jaguars can afford it. |
