The reason Stanzi won't get to play EVER for the Jags (I firmly believe this) is the fact that he IS far and away a better quarterback than Henne, and Gabbert. He always has been. He always will be. But now it's a pride issue. If you wait too long, and put Stanzi in at the end of the season, then the coaches are going to look stupid for waiting so long. They know it's safer to continue the tanking process (which is in full effect) by keeping Henne and Gabbert at 1-2. They know they are terrible. The coaches know that we can't win a game with either of them. The fans know that neither of them can win (unless there is some fluke game where the defense scores touchdowns, and opposing defenses continue dropping interceptions of their own).


It's best for the coaches to just sit Stanzi at 3rd string, so he doesn't dress. And even when he does dress because of injuries, don't even play him at the end of blowouts. Just throw the starter in there against a second team defense and let him get garbage stats (or more likely, continue to get rocked by the 2nd team defense). Then, at the end of the year, Stanzi will be released, and nobody will want him because nobody is going to take a chance on a guy who sat 3rd string behind these two. So nobody gets to see if he's any good, people just assume he's bad, and we get a QB in the draft or free agency. It's happened to plenty of quarterbacks in the NFL. Heck, it happened to Stanzi in Kansas City. It's a common practice by bad coaches with too much pride.

And your judging this on what the extensive game film you've watched on him


The fact that Andy Reid one of the better NFL coaches came in with no prior biases and cut stanzi for Alex Smith a mediocre game manager


The fact that we picked him up very close to the regular season and could with no shame say it has taken time for him to get on the,same page and learn the playbook but he has shown alot in practice


Oh and by the way the team is no indication,of an inability to spot or nurture talent the roster as a whole is talent deficient due to poor drafting for several years


You give them a bunch of turds to pick from you get a bigger turd though you can grow some nice roses


So I'll tell you what I firmly believe whatever your smoking hand it around because we will need some before the end of the season
