Remember when Brady was out for most of the season and NE with Cassel at QB still finished with 11 wins? It showed that due to good coaching and a solid overall team, a good team can withstand the loss of a good/great QB. When Manning was out for the season, the Colts won only 2 games. It was mostly due to Manning's brilliance that the Colts made it to the post season. He would drag a team to the playoffs and the team would not be able to stand up to the competition-- that includes Manning. But again, they wouldn't be there if not for him.

 

Lastly, the Colts with Luck are 3-3 in the playoffs. That's not bad considering it took Manning 6 years to get his first playoff win. 
 

The Pats won 16 games the year before with Brady so they were -5 wins without Brady and they had the easiest schedule that year with Cassel only playing 1 team that was above .500 i believe which was the Dolphins and they split with them and lost the division to them.  That said the Pats are still coached very well Smile
